"Invitation""

This small watercolor painting is inspired by Mary Oliver’s poem “ Invititation” . The use of warm yellows and pinks, along with torn paper, emphasize the handwritten quote from the poem at the bottom of the page; “It is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world.”

I love this poem and these words and was inspired to create this reflective painting as a child would, on the floor, painting and tearing paper and gluing and writing. I hope you feel the love bound up in it.

Every day is a new beginning and a time to be thankful for all of our blessings, even in the hardest of circumstances because there is always hope and something to be grateful for.

This painting is mounted on a 6×6 in wooden frame and is ready to hang. It is part of the “Whispered Prayers” series and was created with contemplation and quiet with the hope that wherever it ends up, this painting will bring tranquility and blessings.
