This small abstract watercolor does not sit quietly, rather it demands your attention with it’s brilliant, fluid blues and punches of red and gold. The torn paper gives texture and energy to the composition. This piece led the way, and I just followed. I happened to be reading one of my favorites, John O’Donohue, and the impact of this quote synchronized so beautifully with this painting, I knew they were meant to be together.
“ It is strange to be here.
The mystery never leaves you alone.
Behind your image,
Below your words,
Above your thoughts,
The stillness of another world waits. “
This artwork is part of my series “Whispered Prayers”, a contemplative, flowing series created with the hope that each piece will find the place and the person it is meant for. The connection through art is beautiful and I hope this one resonates.
